Quick Answer

Choose Swedish for long oil strokes and light to medium pressure over the whole body. Choose Deep Tissue if your back or shoulders stay tight and you like firm work. At Wish Spa & Massage in Fullerton, both are $50 for 30 minutes or $70 for 60.

How Swedish feels

Swedish is smooth. Long oil strokes run the length of the back, arms, legs, and calves, mixed with gentle kneading.

The pressure stays light to medium. Read more on our Swedish Massage page.

How Deep Tissue feels

Deep Tissue is slow and firm. Your therapist warms each area, then leans in where the muscle feels tight.

It should feel strong, never sharp. Read more on our Deep Tissue Massage page.

Which one to book

Go by how you feel today. Tired all over? Swedish. Tight in one place, like the lower back? Deep Tissue.

Many first-time guests begin with Swedish, then move to Deep Tissue once they know how much pressure they enjoy.

When firm becomes too firm

If you are holding your breath or tensing up, the pressure is too much.

Say so, and your therapist eases off straight away.

Can you have a bit of both?

Yes. Ask for a Swedish massage with firmer work on one or two tight spots.

Mention those spots at check-in, and your therapist sets aside time for them.
